Why choose cruelty free?

Okay so I don't want any of this to come out the wrong way but I have been interviewing many people about the idea of choosing cruelty free lifestyles to actively protect animals. And the general queary I received in turn was, "Well, how can I really do anything to help, I mean I'm just one person".

And sitting down to dinner tonight (vegetarian) I came to a conclusion that if the twenty three people I spoke to got together then they would, in fact, have not one person or just one voice but twenty three!

So I ask all of you to give an insight into why many people seem to think because they are only one, they have no voice. An animal does not, so if we do then how could we change their world for the better? Well theirs and ours.
